About South Bucks Counselling

Join us

South Bucks Counselling is a local charity providing affordable, confidential counselling and psychotherapy to individuals in High Wycombe and the surrounding areas.

For over 40 years, we have supported people through life’s challenges, offering a safe and non-judgemental space to talk.

We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality counselling and psychotherapy, whatever their circumstances.

A safe, confidential space to explore what brings you here.

Our Purpose - Why We Exist

We exist to make high-quality counselling and psychotherapy accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances.

We believe in the capacity of every person to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and to create meaningful, lasting change through a professional therapeutic relationship.

Teamwork Hands Stack

The Story of South Bucks Counselling

For over four decades, South Bucks Counselling has been providing professional, affordable counselling and psychotherapy to adults across Buckinghamshire.

We work with people facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem and other life experiences that can feel difficult to navigate.

As a registered charity, we ask clients to contribute according to their financial circumstances. Through grants, donations and the generosity of our community, we are able to make professional therapy accessible to those who might otherwise be unable to afford it.

We are committed to offering prompt access to counselling and psychotherapy, with no waiting list, so that people can begin therapy when they need it.

Our Approach

We offer a confidential, respectful and non-judgemental environment where you can speak openly and explore whatever is on your mind at your own pace.

Therapy is shaped by your individual needs and goals. Rather than offering advice or quick solutions, we work collaboratively with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping you develop greater understanding, insight and the possibility of lasting change.

We recognise that beginning therapy can feel like a significant step. From your first enquiry onwards, we aim to make the process clear, welcoming and straightforward, so that you feel informed and at ease as you begin your therapeutic journey.

A Centre of Excellence

More Than a Counselling Service

South Bucks Counselling also supports the development of counsellors and psychotherapists through placements, supervision and professional development.

We aspire to be a centre of excellence for both client service and practitioner development.
