Trustee Profiles

Andrew-WiltonAndrew Wilton, Chairman

Andrew has been a trustee at South Bucks Counselling since 2011 and has been Chairman since January 2012. Though now retired, Andrew has many years experience of leading top management teams in challenging business environments to achieve their targets. Andrew is committed to ensuring that South Bucks Counselling continues to provide highly effective and affordable counselling to individuals within our community.

Owen Hughes_0_0_0Owen Hughes, Trustee

Owen lives and works in Princes Risborough and is the Managing Director of Eyes Wide Open, a successful Management Consultancy that offers a variety of different services to clients, ranging from SMEs to multinational corporations.  His counsultancy has helped clients as varied as Brother and Saracens Rugby Club, to evolve, to achieve their potential.

David Farmer, Trustee

David is a Managing Director within a major global financial services company, where he has worked for over 30 years.  David supports the work of SBC because he has witnessed through firsthand experience, with close family members, the critical role that counselling support provides in achieving a sustainable recovery from mental illness.

Denise Brittaine, Trustee

Denise has worked as a senior manager in HR for a number of years in high tech companies but has now retired. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and was also graduate member of the British Psychological Society.  She feels that these skills are a good fit as a trustee and hopes to put them to good use in enabling SBC to continue its work in offering affordable counselling to individuals and couples.

Staff Profiles

Dawn Clark, Clinical Director, BABCP Accredited BACP Registered, MBPsS

Dawn is an accredited psychotherapist with a Counselling Psychology  background. She has an in depth understanding and clinical experience of  a variety of modalities including psychodynamic and Third Wave Relational CBT and Mindfulness and an integration of these and the  existential and humanistic modalities.  She has a particular interest in preserving the best of the history and tradition of the therapy  profession and combining this with the latest theoretical and clinical  developments, ensuring the client is placed at the heart of the work.

Dawn has extensive and current NHS experience and practice in  psychological therapy with adults with a broad range of difficulties.  She has also worked in research, lecturing and governance and in the charity sector. She has a business and management background and her first degree was in language interpreting and translating.

Volunteer Counselling and Psychology Assistant Profiles

Nikita Quartey,

Nikita is the Counselling and Psychology Assistant at South Bucks Counselling specifically in charge of Outreach and Liaison. She works to increase access to South Bucks Counselling through building relationships with various companies and increasing public awareness of the company. She has just completed her first degree in Psychology, and has worked previously as a mentor in various capacities and as a support worker.

Genta Lata,

Genta is currently studying a Psychological Sciences MSc at Brunel University. Her role at South Bucks Counselling involves liaising with the NHS and local mental health charities in order to sustain a good working relationship between all relevant mental health organisations within High Wycombe and the surrounding area.

Becca Gooding,

Becca is studying MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical) at the University of Reading. Her role is mainly focused on improving communication internally within the organisation as well as helping to organise and advertise events. She has also been involved in helping to spread the word about South Bucks Counselling through creating and maintaining social media profiles.
